Children's Chatter

For those with an appreciation for the humor, the simplicity, and the creativity of children, I share this bond with you.

One morning, I made my 3 and 5 year old's favorite breakfast - Cocoa Wheats. It is a hot breakfast cereal flavored with chocolate. While they were happily eating, I dashed upstairs to make beds. Within minutes, I heard laughing and assumed my children were enjoying their breakfast conversation. When the noise grew louder, I raced down the steps. Nothing could have prepared me for what I saw. My children had dumped their bowls of Cocoa Wheats onto the floor and were jumping in the piles. Chocolate cereal was oozing down the ceiling, the drapes, the walls, and the floor was covered with a sticky mess. When I asked my children what they were doing, they simply replied, "Mommy, we were just jumping in chocolate puddles."

Needless to say, some of the cereal never came unglued from the walls that morning. But I have smiled numerous times remembering this ingenious event.
